Frequently Asked Questions

In order to create a relaxed experience, groups are kept small, with the number of participants usually capped at 12, sometimes 15 or 16.
If you’re looking to make a booking on behalf of an organisation or workplace, and have got a larger group in mind, get in touch and let’s explore what might be possible.
-
WALK TALK DRAW offers a relaxed outdoor experience combining nature, learning, and art – for individuals and organisations and workplaces.
-
To date we have provided WALK TALK DRAW for the Friends of Lloyd Park as part of their May Fair, Festive Fayre, and Summer Picnic. We have also partnered with architectural sketchclub Lines + Landmarks. We’re in discussions with a number of different partners and look forward to sharing more soon.
-
Of course, you will be very welcome. Celebrating the beauty and joy of everyday encounters with plants WALK TALK DRAW is designed for all skill levels, so alongside you there may be people who haven’t tried drawing for years.
-
We strive to ensure that the locations for WALK TALK DRAW are accessible to participants with additional needs. If there are any concerns about the proposed venue, please do get in touch to discuss.
-
Yes, the whole session is usually outdoors. This means it’s really important for participants to wear comfortable shoes, and dress for the weather, whether strong sun, light rain, or anything in between.
Please note that much of the duration of the session will require participants to be standing.
If the weather is too inhospitable, and the event needs to be postponed, we will let all participants know at the earliest opportunity. At present, events are free to participate in, and so no refunds are necessary.
If it’s a corporate booking, we will work with you to ensure the best outcome for you – whether that is finding a new date or adapting to making it work indoors.
-
Please note that WALK TALK DRAW sessions take place outdoors in environments where there is likely to be pollen, stinging insects including bees and wasps, and plants that can cause irritation. If you suffer from an allergy, please act accordingly and bring appropriate medication.
While we will carry a simple first aid kit with us, we cannot eliminate the risks. Participants are responsible for bringing appropriate medication.
Should there be an emergency situation we will of course seek medical assistance, calling the emergency services if necessary. -
If you don’t want to, you don’t want to!
You are welcome to join us, listen to the plant info, find out about the drawing activities and make a decision at that point as to whether you'd like to draw or not. It's not compulsory. See it as more of an invitation to experiment, have a go, and see what happens.
-
Families are very welcome to join. Information will always be included on the event booking details. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult who is also booked onto the session.
-
Garden designer Lucy Pearce in partnership with a professional artist. All artists are experienced workshop leaders in their own right. See the Artists page for more information on the artists we work with.
-
Beyond yourself, dressed appropriately for the weather, and your booking confirmation, there is no need to bring anything. We will provide paper and pens/pencils/other and a board to lean on. If you have your own art materials that you'd like to use, please do bring them with you.
-
Working with you, we’d tailor the session to meet your needs. This would mean identifying the outdoor space for the session, accommodating the number of people, setting the length and number of sessions. There may be handouts that we produce and further sessions in an indoor setting too.
Pricing is on a sliding scale, with a different rate for charities from well recognised brands with bigger budgets. In this way we want to make Walk Talk Draw accessible as a resource to small, local charities as well as large, global institutions – all of which are on our doorstep in London.
